Chris Evert, whose full name is Christine Marie Evert, is a former professional tennis player from the United States. Born on December 21, 1954, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Evert is widely regarded as one of the greatest female tennis players of all time.

  1. Grand Slam Success: Evert won a total of 18 Grand Slam singles titles during her career. She won the French Open seven times, the US Open six times, Wimbledon three times, and the Australian Open twice.
  2. Consistency and Longevity: Evert was known for her consistency and longevity on the tennis circuit. She reached the semifinals or better in 34 out of the 56 Grand Slam singles tournaments she entered, which is a remarkable achievement.
  3. Rivalries: Evert had several memorable rivalries with other top players of her era, including Martina Navratilova, Billie Jean King, and Evonne Goolagong. Her rivalry with Navratilova, in particular, is considered one of the greatest in tennis history.
  4. World No. 1 Ranking: Evert held the world No. 1 ranking for a total of 260 weeks during her career. She was ranked No. 1 in the world for the first time in November 1975 and remained at the top for much of the late 1970s and early 1980s.
  5. Olympic Gold: Evert won a gold medal in the women's singles event at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, where tennis was a demonstration sport. She defeated Gabriela Sabatini of Argentina in the final to claim the gold medal.
