I’ve had a wonderful few weeks travelling around Australia to celebrate an incredible milestone – 80,000 racquets delivered to primary school students over the past two years, all thanks to ANZ.

As part of the celebration we’ve hit the road with the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots Racquets Roadshow and now we are halfway through our five-week tour it’s a good opportunity to reflect on what we’ve done, where we’ve been and why it’s so important to inspire children to get involved in a great sport like tennis.

After arriving in Paris under an injury cloud with a hip complaint, the 22-year-old impressively scored a comfortable first round win over dangerous German Philipp Kohlschreiber then teamed with Davis Cup team-mate Jordan Thompson to stun the No.2 seeds in men’s doubles action last night.

Ashleigh Barty and Casey Dellacqua have made a strong start to their French Open campaign, scoring a comprehensive first round victory.

The three-time Grand Slam finalists, who have reunited this season, only needed 47 minutes to beat French wildcards Virginie Razzano and Marine Partaud 6-0 6-2.

The pair, who reached the Australian Open quarterfinals in January, now face No.18-seeded Japanese duo Eri Hozumi and Miyu Kato, semifinalists at the Australian Open, in the second round.

Nick Kyrgios and Jordan Thompson have given Australian captain Lleyton Hewitt another priceless option with a bumper doubles win at the French Open in Paris.

Hewitt watched on intently as Kyrgios and Thompson silenced home fans with a 7-6(8) 4-6 6-3 dismissal of French second seeds Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut on Wednesday.

Teaming for the first time, Kyrgios and Thompson connected beautifully in a Davis Cup-like atmosphere on packed a Court 3 at Roland Garros in what bodes well ahead of Australia’s semifinal on clay in Belgium later this year.
